Dennis Hopper's OUT OF THE BLUE (1980) follows a rebellious punk girl, Cebe, and her father, who has just been released from prison. Cebe tries to escape her difficult home situation, full of addiction and violence, and seeks refuge in her local punk scene. Her anger and despair prove to be as vivid as they are disturbing...

In contrast to Hopper's worldwide success with EASY RIDER (1969), OUT OF THE BLUE was never screened in the Netherlands and was quickly labelled a “lost cult film”. With the support of fans such as Chloë Sevigny, the film has finally been restored in 2022. We at De Uitkijk are proud to give OUT OF THE BLUE its Dutch premiere!
