Moonlight (2016)

MOONLIGHT (2016) is celebrating its tenth anniversary! To mark this occasion, the film will be screened once more at De Uitkijk.

In this American coming-of-age story, a young African-American man struggles with his identity and sexuality. You see Chiron grow up from child to adult, which is no easy feat in a rough neighbourhood of Miami. 

With an exceptionally small budget, Moonlight managed to surprise and disrupt the film world. The film became a cultural benchmark in contemporary cinema. In 2017, Moonlight even won the Oscar for Best Film, definitively confirming the impact and significance of the work.
